2015 Funded Project: Let’s Celebrate (Zeh School)

Culturally conscious biographies expose students to the struggles, triumphs, and distinct experiences of diverse cultural icons. The use of these biographies in guided reading groups strengthens students’ intercultural awareness, teaches multiple historical perspectives, and encourages critical thinking. This project will enable students to learn about historical representations of a wide range of cultures, gain an understanding of biography as a genre, and build their knowledge of the common characteristics shared by famous historical figures. NEF will be funding the purchase of 56 books.
