The following is an outline of the NEF Grant Process:
- Intent to Apply (Rolling, Deadline: May 1)
To ensure grant guidelines are being met through grant requests, NEF requires applicants to complete an Intent to Apply form via Google docs. The Intent to Apply is a pre-application idea submission which will be reviewed by the Grant Committee to ensure that the grant request will comply with NEF guidelines. Intent to Apply forms will be evaluated on a rolling basis and may be submitted any time between November 1st and May 1st. **Please note that an Intent to Apply approval does not guarantee funding.**
- Intent to Apply Responses Provided
Feedback to Intent to Apply submissions will be provided by the Grant Committee within 30 days of submission.
- Grant Application Submission (Deadline: July 1)
Completed Applications must be submitted to NEF no later than July 1st. Each application received will be reviewed by the Grant Committee.
- Notification of Decision (August 1-August 15)
Grant applicants will be notified of the committee’s decision via electronic mail. Each year’s grant recipients will be posted to the website. Funding requests can be submitted at any time over the year using the Grant Requisition Form.
- Grant Awards Ceremony (Early September)
- Follow-up (30 days after project completion)
Within 30 days of completion, funded projects must submit a final report detailing the project’s activities and achievement versus project objectives and expenditures. Future funding could be impacted if final reports are not submitted.
