Any faculty member, staff or administrator of the Northborough Public Schools or Algonquin Regional High School may apply for a grant, as well as any parent, student or community member. Collaborative and interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged. For the purpose of this application, primary applicants are those who create, design and write the proposal and also assume responsibility for implementation and evaluation. Proposals may involve additional individuals that may work on the project or benefit from the grant. They should be listed as other participants (i.e. team members) on the application.

While there is no minimum or maximum amount that can be awarded in a NEF grant, awards in the past have typically ranged between $500 – $5000.
A volunteer committee reviews all grant applications submitted on or before the grant application deadline and awards funds based on the specific criteria outlined here. The grant committee then presents their selections to the Board of Directors.
Grants should be self-sustaining and so should not require repeat applications. NEF will consider subsequent applications for extensions or expansions of previously granted projects.
